Mai first attempt at making infused vodka

Eric and Heather are having a Sunday brunch this weekend. In honor of this momentous occasion I'm fulfilling a long time dream of putting spicy things into booze.

This transformation from healthy young male to grandmother is a long time coming. Other items on the list... pickling, dehydrating and infusing olive oil.

Update:
It was amazing... but it would not have been nearly as good if it did not have Jad's bloody mary mix (I'll experiment and then post the recipe)

The vodka mixture is fantastic for bloody mary's but not much else. (However, it did lead me to the mixture that I used in el tengo de la muerte)

Using VIM to debug hairy HTML snippets

This is a set of search and replaces that usually allow you to find an unclosed tag that is wrecking hell on your html (uggg ad code and customizable html snippets are the bane of my existence)

I usually grab the most likely html snippet using web developer -> view source -> view generated source

#setup
set filetype=xml
filetype indent on
% s:\n::g #remove linebreaks
% s:\s\+: :gi #trim multiple spaces to a single space (not really needed but nice...)

# common tags that don't need to be closed
% s:<br.\{-}>::gci #manually look through and remove
tags
% s:<img.\{-}>::gci #manually remove image tags

# check and remove a few tags that can contain some funky chars
% s:<!--.\{-}-->::gci #manually look through and remove comment blocks
% s:<script.\{-}>.\{-}</script>::gci #manually look through and remove script blocks
% s:<style.\{-}>.\{-}</style>::gci #manually look through and remove style blocks

# at this point you are left with tags that need to be closed
# ymmv... this just hits the common stuff that I usually have to dig through

% s:<:\r<:gi #add a linefeed before every tag

then press gg+G to re-indent the entire file.

Note: Use the 'c' (confirm) option in most searches. You would be amazed at the crazy things that comes through in ad code and user customizable html.

I can build a lot of things, but not a cat.

Life gives you little reality checks to keep your mind on what is important.

If my iPhone got runded over, I wouldn't shed a tear.

Interesting Article - My Database is a Webservice

I expound on this when my mind isn't thinking of a little cat.

Rest in Peace, Sallie.

:(

I woke up this morning to find one of our cats dead on the street out in front of our home.

Sallie we will miss you waiting on the fence for us to come home and the roof of the BMW will never look the same without you guarding it.

Love,
Stephen and Antonia
